MVG – Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft

The municipal transport company of Munich, MVG operates the city’s U-Bahn system (Germany’s second-longest, behind Berlin) formed of 6 lines and totaling 103 Km in lenght, an 83Km long “classical” tramway network and numerous complementary bus routes. Togheter with the S-Bahn system operated by DB and smaller bus networks in neighbouring towns, MVG is part of the Münchner Verkehrs und Tarifverbund (MVV) – the integrated fare zone of the greater Munich area.

 

 

 

 

VAG – Verkehrs-Aktiengesellschaft Nürnberg

Nuremberg’s municipal transportation company, VAG operates an U-Bahn network formed of three lines totaling 36 Km, a conventional tramway network of five lines and also 36 Km long and 59 bus routes, some of wich extend into neighbouring towns. VAG, togheter with the S-Bahn system operated by DB and other bus networks operated by neighbouring towns, is part of the Verkehrsverbund Großraum Nürnberg (VGN), the integrated fare zone of the greater Nuremberg area.
